Renowned trainer and sports doctor - Dr Richard Harvey MD, will again assist the coaches in a variety of ways during games and at training. The Rams Technical Director and statistician Greg Kelly will be a great asset to the coaches in recording and providing technical feedback and information on players and patterns during games and at training. The Premier Squad Manager will be Graham Packham. Local Physiotherapist Anthony D'Orsogna will also be on hand at training to support the players. The club Senior Executive will be Peter Keenan.

Rams Recent History
Peter Ware coached the Rams Premier Division Squad in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009.
In that time we have won 2 Major Championships, a Minor point score Championship and 3 Anzac Cups. In every season, Peter has coached the Rams to Championship victory or at least 3rd position or better in the League. During those years the "Rams" boasted 2 golden boot titles, Player of the year, 2 Coach of the year titles. Many of the squad have also been mentioned in the ZZZ team of the year every season. In addition many players have also gone on to play at Representative Level. Byron Bay Football Club is a force to be reckoned with and in 2010 we have made every effort to put the Team Management, systems and sponsorship in place to stay at the top of the Premier League and perhaps this will be the year to take the top prize again.

One of the biggest events in Far North Coast Football history took place in 2009 when the Gold Coast United A-League squad came to Byron Bay. 19 young local players were given the thrill of their football careers playing against the professional A-League superstars in the Rams "Select XI" team in front of 2000 fans.  We plan to repeat this fantastic opportunity during 2010, this time with 2 games involving a Youth team and a Premier squad.

Player Wellbeing & Sports Medicine
At Byron FC we take player health and wellbeing very seriously. The Club is fortunate to have the services of the only "In House" Sports Medicine Doctor working in the FFNC Premier League. Richard Harvey MD has been working closely with Coach Peter Ware for 10 years and is very experienced in providing all manner of personalised fitness, strength, muscle development and injury recovery programs for all our Premier Squad players through the season. We take advantage of the latest developments in sports medicine to bring out the best in our players. Richard will also be available to assess injuries on Thursday evenings at 6.30pm.
We also have the benefit of our own "In House" local Physiotherapist - Anthony D'Orsogna that comes to our training sessions to diagnose, and give advice.

Player Requirements and Expectations
We are a very successful club and player standards will again be set high to enable us to achieve our goals and future direction.
*** You will be expected to enter into a player agreement that encompasses a code of conduct, dress regulations on game day, player commitment and team direction for the season.
The Premier Squad will be selected from players of a generally high standard.

*** Initially you will be expected to pass a fitness test and will be tested all year to maintain a high standard. Prior to the start of competition you will also be expected to undergo intensive fitness and strength training under the supervision of our sports doctor.

*** You will be expected to possess a good level of technical and tactical ability. Premier squad selections will be based on a number of factors including training performance over several weeks, teamwork and individual player future potential according to age.

*** It will be a requirement that each player will attend both coaching and technical training sessions every week and be ready to train before 7pm sharp with boots and shin pads on, until 9pm. You will also be expected to train according to various sports medicine best practices under supervision. (For example you will be required to bring a 2lt full water bottle with you).
*** You will also be expected to give a commitment to be available to play in all games until the completion of the season including the Anzac Cup and against Gold Coast United if selected.

*** We are one squad and all 30 players will be expected to be available and keen to play in the "top grade "Premiers game if asked by the coaches. We must also support all our squad players in both the Premiers and Premier Reserves games on a Saturday.

*** The club acknowledges that although the Premier squad take a professional approach to the Premier League, all our players take part in football for their own enjoyment, mateship and to play at the highest level they can. Therefore we actively encourage you to also join in the camaraderie of the squad at various BBQ's, social events and host visiting teams after our games.
Remember our Clubs commitment to regional youth development. This year we are also looking for 14 Premier League "star players of the future" for this year's Premier Reserve team, so if you know a youth player up to 21 years of age anywhere in the Northern Rivers, you think we may be looking for, please encourage them to come to our training sessions to take advantage of this opportunity, or contact Peter Ware on 66853140 or 0402156743.
